The various economic restrictions that continue to plague FC Barcelona are such that it is quite difficult for the Catalan club to strike the perfect balance between their various transfer operations.
From arrivals to departures to even registrations, Barcelona are having to struggle to make ends meet in terms of their transfer market-related operations due to both financial limitations as well as the reluctance of certain players to agree to the terms offered.
However, in light of a preview provided by Spanish outlet SPORT from their interview with Barcelona vice-president Rafa Yuste, the Barcelona representative has given positive updates regarding various renewals alongside several other updates as well upon which he was questioned.
Focusing on the aspect of renewals, SPORT put forth a query regarding the current status of the renewal progress for Barcelona youngsters Alejandro Balde and Lamine Yamal, with the 19-year-old fullback having even commented that it was progressing well himself.
The Vice-President responded with similar vigor and acknowledged that the progress pertaining to the contracts being asked about was moving along smoothly. He stated: “We are indeed talking to both of them (Balde and Yamal) and we also hope to give you good news about both of them soon.”
Another player whose contract renewal was then brought into light was that of French winger Ousmane Dembele, with news involving the forward having been circulating quite a lot in recent days.
The Vice-President did provide a reasonably positive answer in this case as well, albeit with a bit of pessimism in the way that he addressed how long the process could end up taking, stating:
“It seems like an endless story. The same thing has happened to us every year. Xavi likes Dembele very much and it is a process that is slower than others. I hope we end up in a good understanding between both parties.”
The full interview is set to be released within a day as per the SPORT schedule, but it remains interesting to see what more information and insight the Barcelona Vice President is able to provide regarding the internal workings of the Catalan club at this point in time.
