FC Barcelona are still in the midst of having various economic restrictions being piled up on them. Every transfer window in recent memory has seen La Blaugrana subjected to some form of handicap or restriction when doing business or negotiating the arrival of any player within Barcelona.
Due to poor management of their finances in the past, Barcelona continue to pay the price today. Consequently, given that they simultaneously have a dept to repay as well, Barcelona must constantly look towards assets they can use to generate adequate revenue to fund their repayments and other projects.
A valuable La Masia asset
One name in particular that could be key is that of Ansu Fati. According to Spanish outlet SPORT, the 20-year-old La Masia product is among those Barça stars that have retained their market value. While others such as Lamine Yamal have seen their value surge, there are also those that have seen them decline, such as Sergi Roberto or Marcos Alonso to name few.
Retained value
Fati is one of the few that have seen no changes take place in their valuation. Currently on loan at Brighton in the English Premier League, SPORT believes that he is a really viable asset for Barcelona to consider selling in the summer. His performances with Brighton, as a result, are very crucial to Barça’s goal.
More or less playing as a substitute at the moment, De Zerbi’s Brighton has thus far given him a good amount of chances. Playing a couple of minutes in almost every outing, his prominence and playing time have both increased since leaving Barcelona to go for a season and play in England.
Importance within Barcelona
With the upcoming summer window expected to be a crucial point for Barcelona, sales will undoubtedly have to take place. Fati remains a player that does not exactly have an important role in the current scheme of things within the Catalan club, and as a result, his sale may be the easiest one for Barça to digest at the moment.
Moreover, despite his current value not being close to his highest peak valuation of €80 million, Barcelona can still consider him a significant sale if he does end up going on a permanent transfer. The suitors may be a problem at the moment, but if he performs at his best level in Brighton, that may not be a problem for long.
