FC Barcelona overcame the clash against Porto as 1-0 victors and took away all three points. The Portuguese giants were a tough opponent to crack down, but the Catalans were able to emerge victorious thanks to a goal by Ferran Torres.
While the game itself was a challenge, Barcelona had to deal with several problems along the way as well. The injury to Robert Lewandowski was a particularly bad moment for the Blaugranes, as the Polish striker is now set to be on the sidelines for a considerable amount of time.
Another worrying instance occurred when 16-year-old Lamine Yamal had to leave the field prematurely. However, Xavi Hernandez later confirmed that this was due to some stomach issues that forced Yamal to go to the bathroom during a break. Since he could not come back in time, he had to be replaced.
Now, as per the latest update provided by journalist Adria Albets, the teenage sensation has finally managed to recover from his illness and is now fully fit again. This comes as great news to La Blaugrana and Xavi Hernandez in particular.
With this news, Xavi now has three fully fit forwards for the upcoming clash against Granada on Sunday. The final La Liga clash before the international break kicked off, Xavi would have wanted to have as many players available as possible to stand a fighting chance.
With Lewandowski now injured alongside Brazilian winger Raphinha, the list of attackers was shrinking dangerously thin. Others on the sideline include the likes of Pedri and Frenkie De Jong, both of whom are also not going to return until at least after the international break.
As it stands, Xavi has the services of Joao Felix, Ferran Torres, and Lamine Yamal to make use of on Sunday. Before the international break takes off, Barca will want to make sure that they can get another three points under their belt to remain strong in the race for the La Liga EA Sports title.
