It has been a week since the start of the January transfer window and FC Barcelona are still occupied with the issue of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor’s registration.
After missing the 31st December deadline, the Blaugranes have been trying to get the duo registered by approaching La Liga and the RFEF. However, despite their return to the 1:1 status, they have not been able to solve the problem of registration of these two players.
Now, Barcelona are looking to take another judicial approach to get this matter solved, and according to Mundo Deportivo, they will ask the Higher Sports Council (CSD) for a precautionary measure to get these two players registered today.
The Blaugrana legal department has prepared its case with several arguments. However, sources from the RFEF yesterday denied the publication of any report that would have helped the Catalans in this case, despite reports coming about such a report in Spanish media.
However, although they have not published any such report, they still internally agree that the regulations have been obsolete and no longer comply with the Spanish legislation, something that Barcelona will also argue.
But despite this understanding, the RFEF is reluctant to give the go-ahead for the re-registration of the two players for fear of legal challenges from other clubs. That is why La Liga and RFEF have allowed this matter to go out of their hands, and are counting on the courts to make a decision on this issue.
Here, it needs to be remembered that Barcelona had already submitted the necessary documents for the registration of these players before the deadline passed, i.e., between 30th and 31st December.
Two days were taken by La Liga to validate these documents and to ask for more guarantees which resulted in the Catalan club’s return to the 1:1 status. However, the two players had already been deregistered on 1st January as their registrations had expired on 31st December.
