At the moment, FC Barcelona keeps its focus on the pre-season and on preparing themselves. Hansi Flick has now taken over, and his time at the club has now arrived in full capacity. However, even for the new Barcelona coach, certain measures are necessary to get the team acquainted to his demands.

For this, and even other commercial reasons, Barcelona is set to go on a tour to the United States of America this month. This tour will include friendly games against the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid, and AC Milan. Moreover, it is more than likely that it will also include commercial appearances that would be good for the Barça brand.

However, despite these obvious sporting and economic benefits, Barcelona have decided not to take a key player along with them. As revealed by SPORT, 17-year-old Spanish hero and La Masia prodigy Lamine Yamal will not be going with the squad to the United States of America.

The reasoning behind this is simple and perhaps even understandable. Within the club, there is a belief that the young Spaniard has been exhausted to an extreme limit and the Catalan club does not wish to take unnecessary steps with him that could lead to further exhaustion or potential injuries.

Having gone all the way in the European Championship, breaking multiple records along the way, Yamal has overcome a great challenge and won a massive title for his country. However, such a campaign understandably takes its toll, and Barcelona believe the young winger could use some respite and relaxation.

That is why, as per the report, Barcelona will let the youngster likely have an extended vacation until the second week of August. This should give him enough time to disconnect but also digest all the happenings that have occurred following his triumph in the European Championship.

As for other Spanish players, such as Pedri and Ferran Torres, Barcelona is relying on a similar approach. In Pedri’s case, however, the extended vacations are merely more time for him to recover and continue to focus on making the best return that he possibly can for both his own betterment and the club’s.
