The start of this season has not been kind to FC Barcelona, as a number of important players have already been sidelined and missed matches because of injuries.

Currently, the club has Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, and Jules Kounde all sidelined with injuries. Ronald Araujo has also faced a stint in the infirmary but has now recovered and is available for selection.

Barcelona facing multiple injuries with El Clasico on the horizon

There are only eighteen days left before Barcelona face their toughest contenders for the league title, Real Madrid, and Xavi, and the club will be trying to go into this match with as much strength as possible.

However, Frenkie de Jong and Jules Kounde are highly unlikely to be able to get fit for this match. On the other hand, Barcelona believes Pedri and Raphinha will be fully fit by the time Real Madrid visits the Montjuic for the coming Clasico.

Raphinha working to be available against Real Madrid

Mundo Deportivo reports that Raphinha is pushing himself to the limit in the gym to ensure he can return to action before this highly important match.

The Brazilian also shared some pictures on his social media, showing him working hard in the gym. The Brazilian had his femoral biceps injured on 29th September in the match against Sevilla, and thus had a full month to recover before the Real Madrid match.

For now, the Brazilian is on track with his deadlines, and the international break has given Xavi further room to wait for him to recover from his injury.

After Dembele’s departure, Raphinha is the starting player on the right wing for Xavi, and his presence in the team can make a significant difference against the Merengues, especially as Lewandowski is also doubtful for this fixture.
