FC Barcelona and Brazilian winger Raphinha walked away with the official Man of the Match award following the draw against Getafe. The player did however end up missing a golden opportunity that could have seen the team leave Madrid with all 3 points and was seen visibly distraught following the full-time whistle.
The player then would address the media in a rather apologetic tone, acknowledging that he is working to avoid frustration and getting angry on decisions that see him being taken off the field to be replaced. He went on to say: “The last time I was angry I said that I would try to make it the last time, but it is difficult.“
He was, of course, referring to the incident against Manchester United in the first leg of their Europa League tie at the Spotify Camp Nou. The Brazilian ended up getting frustrated and injured himself while getting angry and kicking an item.
He was also quick to point out that this draw is still granting them a point, and that with the 9 games still left to play in La Liga, they will go all out to ensure they accumulate as many points as possible in the remainder of the season.
“There are nine games left and we have to try to secure as many points as possible. It was a pity, but it’s over and we have to change the mentality. Next weekend we have another very important game.“
FC Barcelona next face an in-form Atletico Madrid in La Liga Santander, at the Spotify Camp Nou. The match is scheduled to take place on Sunday, the 23rd of April.
