FC Barcelona need to sell some of their players to minimize their wage bill and raise further funds. Most of the players that the club is considering for sale are on the fringes of the squad, but the club is also contemplating selling some more established players to get a boost to their finances.
One such player that the club has been considering for sale is the Brazilian winger Raphinha. The player played an important part in the campaign last season, especially with the absence of Ousmane Dembele, but his end product has not been entirely world-class, and the club does not consider him essential going into the next season.
According to SPORT, FC Barcelona have already received a good offer for the player. While further details are yet to be provided, the offer is from Saudi Arabia, and keeping in view the recent history of the clubs from this country, the club would be expecting a good amount of money in terms of the transfer fee for the player.
However, the possible outcome of this operation is still highly uncertain, as Raphinha himself has already made clear that he intends to stay with FC Barcelona for years to come.
A few weeks ago, he gave an interview, where he commented “Of course I’m going to continue at Barcelona. Next season and the next, and the next, I have many years on my contract and I hope to fulfill those years and many others.”
The winger reached double figures in goals scored and assists given last season, as he scored 10 goals and gave 12 assists over all competitions, and was also the second-highest scorer for the club in La Liga along with Fati.
The player made fifty appearances in total, but this involvement is expected to be lower in the next season as Dembele has recovered from his injury, and would be the main protagonist on the right wing.
