FC Barcelona have been handed yet another injury boost with news coming from the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper sure to brighten up the day for the Camp Nou faithful as the French winger Ousmane Dembele has returned to group training at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
The Frenchman has been out of action since late January with a long-term injury which has derailed his mercurial season down the right wing for La Blaugrana. Dembele’s potential return could provide a much-needed boost for Xavi’s men in the remaining games of the season.
Dembele had his best season in a Barca shirt, rising as one of the stars of Xavi’s side, turning up with some impressive performances at crucial times, but his injury problems have forced him to sit out much of the season. Since Dembele’s injury, the Catalan giants have seen themselves get knocked out of both the Europa League and the Copa del Rey.
Despite this, Barcelona fans are eagerly waiting for his return as they will be hoping for more of the Ousmane Dembele that we saw at the beginning of the season. Reports suggest that Dembele has not yet resumed full training with the team, but his return to group training could be a positive sign.
The medical staff will continue to monitor his progress and if he receives the medical green light to play, it could provide a much-needed boost to the team’s attacking options in the big game against Atletico Madrid on Sunday.
With Barcelona in touching distance of the La Liga title and eager to finish the season strong, Dembele’s potential return could not come at a better time. The team has struggled with injuries throughout the season, and the return of one of their key players could provide the spark they need to finish the season strong, with Pedri Gonzalez and Frenkie De Jong also returning to group training this Monday.
