Barcelona winger’s father assures the player will remain at the club

Date:

The transfer sagas involving FC Barcelona seemingly take turns and twists at varying points during every window. Players that sometimes seem to be near-impossible signings, end up arriving at the club as headliners, while sometimes players that seem to be signing indefinitely, end up having their deals collapse at the last minute.

In the most recent of transfer developments, a player that was seemingly on his way out, might just end up extending his stay at Barcelona.

Jorge Mendes and Bori Fati, agent and father respectively of La Masia gem and 20-year-old FC Barcelona forward Ansu Fati, recently were scheduled to meet to discuss the current situation of the player at FC Barcelona and what exactly is going to be his next step in his career.

Following the meeting, suspected to have been taking place during Barcelona’s game against CA Osasuna, the father of the player was stopped by the press and asked about what the current situation with Ansu Fati was and would he still be at FC Barcelona next season.

Bori Fati would go on to assure all those present that the player would indeed be staying at the club next season, stating: Ansu will stay at Barcelona. That’s for sure. He stays, it’s guaranteed.

This news comes as a rather ironic stance from the father of the player, as this was the same individual who a while back was adamantly against FC Barcelona and their handling of Ansu Fati. He was convinced that his son was being deployed less unfairly and that he should instead be playing for a side that would be willing to offer him substantially more game time.

Now, as the meeting between the agent and the representative of the player concludes, the next potential step is meeting with club officials and discussing the formula for the player to end up staying. As things stand, it seems that FC Barcelona are more inclined on selling the young forward to generate additional revenue for their upcoming summer transfer targets.
