FC Barcelona have faced a tough run-in with some major injuries this season, which have sidelined some of their important players for long periods. Despite their 11-point lead atop the league table, the team has struggled to find their rhythm and maintain consistency on the field without these crucial cogs in recent months.

FC Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele is getting closer to returning to the field after suffering a muscle injury in his left thigh. Dembele’s career saw something of a resurrection following the appointment of club legend, Xavi as La Blaugrana manager. With Xavi’s firm faith in him, the French winger has been exceptional for the Catalan giants on the right wing.

However, injury woes have subsided his output this season too, as he has been sidelined with an injury picked up on the away trip to Girona. Dembele has been out of action since, and his absence was initially estimated to last for 6-7 weeks. It was hoped that he would return to face Real Madrid in the league’s Clásico, but the medical team has decided to wait a bit longer.

Dembele has been recovering well, and although he is itching to get back on the pitch, medical prudence dictates that he must wait a bit longer. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Frenchmen will not receive medical clearance to play against Atlético Madrid this Sunday. Despite Xavi’s desire to have him back in the team, the forward’s return is currently planned for the match against Real Betis on April 29.

The player has been training hard to make his comeback as soon as possible, but the scar tissue from his injury is not yet completely healed. The medical staff is cautious and wants to avoid any further setbacks.

As a result, the match against Real Betis is the most likely scenario for his return to action. However, the team may reconsider his status depending on how he performs in training this week and the results of any further tests. Although the Frenchman observed the Ramadan fast over the last month and continued to work hard during his recovery period.

Barcelona will be hoping for his return as they seek to clinch the La Liga title. They currently hold an 11-point lead over second-place Real Madrid, and the addition of the French forward could provide a much-needed boost to their attack. However, the team will not rush his comeback and will prioritize his long-term fitness.
