FC Barcelona are set to lock horns with their arch-rivals Real Madrid on the 26th matchday of La Liga campaign at Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday night in what would be a thrilling contest an opportunity for the Catalan giants to cement their position atop the league table.

The Garnet and Blue received a major injury boost in terms of the return of their midfield magician Pedri González. The Canary Islander has recovered from his injury and joined the group training ahead of this crucial outing and is expected to start the game against the Royal Whites of Madrid.

However, the participation of Ousmane Dembélé in this highly-anticipated clash has been completely ruled out as the Frenchmen’s recovery process is taking longer than expected as per the reports of Mundo Deportivo.

The report explains that the French winger has not suffered a relapse but rather his healing process is progressing at a slower rate as compared to the initial estimated recovery period of 5-6 weeks. The report further suggests that the winger is expected to spend another 2-3 weeks on the sidelines and the priority of the medical and coaching staff is to ensure his complete recovery to avoid the risk of any relapse.

Dembele’s injury was a cause of concern for the Camp Nou faithful, but Raphinha’s impressive performances during the absence of Frenchmen have turned the heads and helped La Blaugrana maintain their advantage atop the league table.

Barcelona will once again face Los Blancos on April 4th at Camp Nou, and if Dembele completely recovers from his injury, he could be available to participate in the crucial 2nd leg of the Copa Del Rey Semi-Final. Until then, the Catalan club is taking all necessary precautions to ensure his recovery goes smoothly.
