The expectations and pressures of a team like FC Barcelona can weigh adversely on various players. Many attempt to play through them and end up hindering their own progression as a consequence. However, some players are just born to play for Barcelona, and it is easy to see why.

One of those players is 21-year-old Spanish midfielder Pedri, who has become a beacon for the Catalan club in recent seasons. His composed style of play, his understanding of La Pausa, and just the way he produces magic on the field are reminiscent of far too many Barcelona greats to even count.

However, the one thing that has undoubtedly been problematic for his progression is his injury record. With recurring physical ailments constantly forcing him to stick to the sidelines, the Spaniard has not always been able to give Barcelona his all.

Now, on the other hand, it seems that the best version of Pedri is finally realizing itself. As highlighted by SPORT, for the first time since almost a year and a half, Pedri has played 11 consecutive games without any unwanted stoppages.

While it is true that he is yet to fully complete any of those games, due to the fact that caution with him is still being exercised, his participation has been of great value to Barcelona. Since his return from injury, he has already provided three crucial assists and scored once as well.

His display against Napoli was solid overall, despite it still not being one of his best. The workrate he showcased, combined with his composure, allowed Barcelona to keep up with the side from Naples. It was also his pinpoint assist that ultimately gave Barcelona their only goal of the game.

As 2024 continues to move on, Pedri’s progression keeps getting better and better. Slowly forgetting about his injury woes, the young Spaniard is finally finding his best version again. With Pedri playing his best football, Barcelona seem to be a completely new competitor altogether.
