In the current climate of the summer transfer window, FC Barcelona continue to be a club that is as of right now simply assessing their options to add to their recruitment plans. Given their financial limitations, the Catalan club is unable to replicate their typical ability to spend big as they have in previous summers.
With targets such as Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva and even Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix, both said to be interested in becoming Barca players, Barcelona themselves are unable to fund their transfers at this moment in time.
However, in a scenario that has been speculated to be the case for some time now, sales of significant value could end up assisting Barcelona in generating the right amount of funds and clearing up the required space in their various budgets to facilitate new arrivals.
According to Gabriel Sans of Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are currently focusing on ensuring a sizeable departure that would bring in the right amount of funds that would then allow the club to ensure arrivals in two specific positions.
As per the report, Barcelona intend to use those hypothetical funds to facilitate the arrival of an interior midfielder as well as a right back to reinforce Xavi Hernandez’s side.
While the departures of returning loanees such as Nico Gonzalez, Alex Collado, and Clement Lenglet are on the table, Barcelona are looking towards their higher valued players such as Ansu Fati, Raphinha, and potentially Ferran Torres as the kind of departures that would ensure a sizeable transfer fee.
Despite the reluctance of the players on leaving the club, Barcelona continue to receive offers for their services, and should they be able to convince any particular player to leave they could consequently then pursue other talents in the summer window.
