Barcelona youngster assures he intends to stay at the club

FC Barcelona seemingly intends to keep their most prized assets at the club, and only dispose of those it deems surplus to requirement.

Some that have garnered rumors regarding their departure are players that the Catalan club would under no circumstances even consider letting go of, and one such player has publicly stated that he has no intentions of leaving.

Pablo Gavira, 18-year-old La Masia product, and latest Golden Boy winner, has become an undisputed addition to the Barcelona first team over the last two seasons and has become a vital cog in Xavi Hernandez’s Barca in the 2022/2023 season.

However, due to reports suggesting that should the player’s new contract remain unregistered, he would be free to leave for any other club that agrees to a pre-contract with the young star, it has prompted fans of the Blaugrana to be slightly unsettled over the future of their academy gem.

As informed by Mundo Deportivo, the youngster has since come out with an interview taken by Movistar+, in which he makes it absolutely clear to all potential suitors and interested parties that his objective and motivation has always been and continue to be FC Barcelona. The player stated that:

“..Since I was little, I’ve always wanted to stay at Barça. It’s the club of my dreams, I always say so, and I’m calm. Let them be too,..”

As of right now, Gavi’s newly signed contract remains unregistered with La Liga, as the latter entity believes that FC Barcelona are currently not in compliance with a few requirements needed to register the young talent, and have made the Catalan club retain the player thus far on his prior subsidiary contract as a B-team player rather than a first-team one.

However, there is mutual understanding within FC Barcelona that the player will undoubtedly be registered at some point in time and the registration process itself will not take much longer moving forward.
