Barcelona youngster and La Masia gem Lamine Yamal has been quite the story within the realms of the Catalan club. Predicted by the club to become a massive part of their future objectives and to become a key player within the club in the years to come, his contractual and sporting continuity is a priority for FC Barcelona.
In the case of Xavi Hernandez, the faith in the youngster is being explicitly conveyed to the player. The first team manager regularly calls upon the 15-year-old to train with the first team and has done so yet again for this upcoming clash against Getafe in La Liga Santander as per the report from Mundo Deportivo.
The team is currently a bit strapped for star power, given that a handful of important injuries have resulted in deteriorated performances from the side and it appears that Xavi insists on replacing those injured players with La Masia talents and their respective qualities. The injuries to Andreas Christensen, Pedri, Ousmane Dembele, and Frenkie De Jong are such that heavily impact the quality and structure of Xavi’s team.
Alongside Lamine Yamal, other talented youngsters such as Estanis Pedrola, Marc Casado, Aleix Garrido, Angel Alarcon, Martin Georgiev, and Ruben Cantero have also been called up to train with the first team. From amongst these players, a chosen few will be selected by Xavi to be available for the clash against Getafe.
Barcelona travel away to the Estadio Coliseum Alfonso Pérez in Madrid to face off against Getafe on Sunday, the 16th of April. The match kicks off at 04:15 pm CET and should also kick off the final stretch of the season in allowing Barcelona to finalize the La Liga title as a whole and emerge as Spanish Champions, should they continue to impress.
