FC Barcelona are currently facing problems in terms of their financial struggles and while this remains their primary concern, a certain talented youngster’s development is also currently in jeopardy due to physical reasons.
Alejandro Balde, 19-year-old La Masia graduate and currently the starting left-back for FC Barcelona when available, was injured during Matchday 37 of La Liga Santander when the Catalan club welcomed RCD Mallorca to Camp Nou in the game that the hosts would end up winning 3-0.
In what was a rather comfortable victory for La Blaugrana, the only stain on a rather positive 90 minutes was the ankle injury that Alejandro Balde sustained due to a dangerous foul by Mallorca player Amath Ndiaye, who consequently received a red card for his reckless challenge.
Rupturing the ligaments in his ankle, the player’s original reports suggested that his injury would keep him on the sidelines for anywhere between 7-10 weeks, a period of around 2 months.
Now, as per The Residency, an online app that lets users talk and communicate with football stars directly, Alejandro Balde has provided a positive update on his injury through the app, stating:
I’m fine with my injury! I’ll come back stronger than before, you’ll see.
In what will undoubtedly be perceived as positive news among the Blaugrana faithful, it is now vital that the player continues his recovery as planned and is not rushed back to action. Patience by both player and club will simultaneously be crucial factors in ensuring the quality of his recovery as well alongside the time it takes for his return.
Moreover, it is rather fortunate that his injury came at a time when Barcelona were no longer in contention for any titles and managed to conclude the season soon after. Now, as they prepare and will play their pre-season games, Balde should have ample time to make a full recovery without any pressure.
