Barcelona youngster sees transfer value take a drastic hit

Barcelona forward Ansu Fati

FC Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati has not had the best or most memorable of seasons. The once highly recognized and appraised youngster now sees himself mostly on the bench as a substitute player for the Catalan club.

According to the most recent update on the Transfermarkt website, Fati sees his value plummet from €50 million to now being at €35 million. This fall in value is the biggest depreciation the Catalans have seen any of their players take this season.

This decrease in value by no means is unexpected, however, given that the youngster has hardly had any meaningful minutes this season. Despite being used a lot by Xavi in terms of game participation, the minutes themselves have been lacking, to say the least.

Moreover, there are rumors spiraling around that Barcelona are looking to part ways with the young number 10 should a desirable and adequate transfer approach be made for his acquisition.

This is partly due to his overall drop in level, but also because Barcelona themselves are in a tight situation when it comes to financial matters, as they must create some more space in their salary expenses and decrease it.

As per previous reports, the player himself wants to continue at the club but would ideally want to be much more important in the manager’s future plans. As for the perspective of the club, no finalized decision has yet been made but Barcelona remains in constant contact with the player’s entourage and will be looking to find a beneficial solution for all parties involved in the negotiations.
