Promising talents may end up finding themselves at adventurous crossroads when chosen by European giants such as FC Barcelona, and at times it may backfire. A certain young Spaniard who seemed destined for greatness, now remains at the mercy of another club letting him showcase his own potential.

20-year-old Pablo Torre was a transfer acquisition that FC Barcelona made during the 2022 summer transfer window, and one that arguably has not paid dividends thus far. A young player much too inexperienced to be labeled as a wrong decision just yet, but his incomprehensible lack of game time certainly raised many eyebrows.

Talented, he was undoubtedly. He’d shown his quality time and time again for Racing Santander while he wore their colours, and similarly received praise from those working at Barcelona as well. Thus the question became even more intriguing; why does Pablo Torre not get any minutes under Xavi Hernandez?

As per trusted Catalan journalist Gerard Romero, there may be two concrete answers that Barcelona fans will be curious to hear. In terms of the player’s future, Romero suggests that he is much more on the verge of a loan deal than he is on staying with the club next season. Secondly, the primary reason the club has secretly been displeased with him is suspected “inappropriate behavior”.

Thus far, nothing concrete can be found on what exactly is suggested or referred to by the term used to describe his behavior and Xavi has also publically denied such rumors, but it remains certain that the youngster is not in the plans of Xavi Hernandez for next season at the minute given the immense quality of midfielders that La Blaugrana are reportedly chasing.

In terms of his contributions this season, his first in the Spanish top flight, his 257 minutes have been almost little to no time in terms of the 11 games that he has thus far featured for FC Barcelona in. He has scored once and provided a singular assist in the same time span.
