FC Barcelona remains a competitive club and aspires to win any and all competitions they are a part of, and so do their players. The club has a huge pool of quality players who provide depth in every position. Consequently, there is also more competition for each spot that the eleven who grace the field occupy.
Young Pablo Torre is a player who has particularly faced the brunt of this competitive depth. A talented youngster by all means, he has very rarely gotten the opportunity this season to showcase his talents to the rest of the footballing world since his arrival at FC Barcelona.
Acquired from Racing Santander for a fee of around €5 million in the summer of 2022, the player has since only featured for FC Barcelona in 10 games. Within those 10 games, he has played a total of just 253 minutes, with 53 coming in La Liga, 105 in the Copa Del Ray, and 95 in the UEFA Champions League.
As per SPORT, the player will likely now be used in the 4 remaining games of the La Liga season, and those will be assessed as a form of exam for the youngster. There also exist clubs who wish to take the 20-year-old on loan for next season, but FC Barcelona remain adamant that they will only loan him out to a First Division side so as to not deteriorate the competition he plays with and grows against.
Despite rumors that his “bad attitude” was the cause of this lack of playing time, those false movements were cleared by head coach Xavi Hernandez quite soon. Now, as FC Barcelona have wrapped up the La Liga Santander title, the games ahead for Pablo Torre should be positive news, and an opportunity that the young Spaniard will not want to waste.
