The news and drama around FC Barcelona is always a never-ending cycle. The Blaugranes, despite their own financial limitations, remain a lucrative hunting ground for elite talents. Other clubs, even rivals of Barcelona, thus often come around poking for information.
With Joan Laporta having recently confirmed the rejection of a record-breaking offer for Lamine Yamal, it is easy to see just how potent some of Barça’s players are and how badly others may want to steal them. However, this aim to steal away young prodigies goes beyond just the realm of the Barcelona first team.
This is because a player like Mikayil Faye, aged 19 and who has not even made his first team debut for Barcelona yet, is already attracting major interest.
According to journalist Santi Aouna, Faye is currently on the radar for Bavarian giants Bayern Munich. They are interested in the young African talent, who is making quite the progression on various stages.
As per his words, the German team considers him to be an exciting player and prospect. For Bayern, this poaching of young talents, and particularly defenders, is nothing new. Even previously, there have been reports linking them to Barcelona captain Ronald Araujo as well.
However, for now, Barcelona seem to be keen on retaining their extraordinary young talent. In the last winter transfer window, they have already stopped advances from the likes of Girona, Alaves, and even French side Lens. Now, with Bayern in the picture, things could look to be more interesting.
The journalist does report that Lens are still keen on possibly returning to the scene for Faye. At the moment, the young defender continues to impress both with Barcelona and even with Senegal. His progression is quite promising, and he truly has the feel of a great player in the making.
In terms of his goal-scoring, the Senegalese defender has been unstoppable recently. With three goals in the previous five outings already scored under the tutelage of Rafa Marquez at Barcelona Atletic, and one fantastic screamer of a goal with Senegal on his international debut while playing as a defender, it’s clear to see why the Barcelona youngster is becoming a hot property in the market.
