Barcelona are well aware of the interest that lurks in the shadows of European football when it comes to the players currently playing for La Blaugrana. While the departures of several players are something the Catalan club would favor, there also remain those the club considers absolutely non-negotiable and non-transferable.

Chief amongst such players are the upcoming youngsters that have already made their names for Barcelona and those that possess the elite quality to continue being huge assets for La Blaugrana in the near future.

One such “untouchable” player is Dutch Maestro and 26-year-old midfielder Frenkie De Jong, who has most recently finished arguably one of his most impressive seasons under the tutelage of Xavi Hernandez.

However, as per the most recent report concerned with the interest for the Dutch midfielder, SPORT reveals that Thomas Tuchel has become the latest manager who sees himself drawn to the Barcelona star and has already requested his club to consider bringing the player to Germany after having failed to accomplish the same task when he was managing Chelsea.

That is because Thomas Tuchel is currently the manager of German champions Bayern Munich, a club that does not exactly see eye to eye on many things with FC Barcelona, and the two have had rather tense relations over the past few years.

The latest hurdle between the two clubs was added when Barcelona stole Robert Lewandowski from the clutches of the Bavarians last season, with the Polish striker having been instrumental for Barca this season as their top scorer in multiple competitions.

Tuchel becomes only the latest of coaches who have been drawn to De Jong, with Erik Ten Haag of Manchester United having been the most prominent of those before him. The now-United manager was previously the coach of De Jong during their rather successful time together at Ajax and knows firsthand the impactful footballing ability the player possesses.

Despite the interest, however, De Jong himself remains committed to Barcelona and Xavi Hernandez considers him a key player in his future plans with no intention of letting him leave.
