While recent news for FC Barcelona have been mainly positive in the sense that their transfer window now seems to be truly kicking off as they begin to pursue their targets, there was also bound to be a point where other interested parties would begin to get involved with their players too.
Following the revelations of the approval of Barcelona’s presented Financial feasibility plan, alongside news that Saudi Arabian sides may potentially be interested in acquiring the services of Barcelona talisman and top scorer, Robert Lewandowski, there now comes interest from Germany for one of Xavi’s most vital players this season.
According to Sky and Mundo Deportivo, German giants Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in Brazilian winger Raphinha following his first season at FC Barcelona. Bayern had previously shown interest in the 26-year-old winger while he was still playing for Leeds United, but the player ultimately ended up deciding to join FC Barcelona following a transfer of around €60 million in total.
Raphinha has had a respectable first season at Barcelona thus far. Winning both La Liga Santander and capturing the Spanish Supercup in his debut season, the Brazilian also accumulated 10 goals and 12 assists across all competitions.
This rekindled interest from Bayern Munich is reportedly heavily fueled by the individual liking new head coach Thomas Tuchel has for Raphinha. The German manager recently concluded his first season as manager of FC Bayern Munich, ending it with a massively close call to win the Bundesliga following Borussia Dortmund’s collapse in the latter’s own final matchday.
For now, Bayern Munich has submitted no formal offer for the player, who personally wants to stay at the club as does Xavi Hernandez want to keep him in Catalonia, and are aware that his current contract is slated to go all the way till 2027 so acquiring him at this point in time would be a massively tall hurdle to overcome for the Bavarians.
