Barcelona target Joshua Kimmich

Bayern Munich stand in the way of FC Barcelona and their 28-year-old target

Negotiations with players are one part of what Barcelona need to work on, convincing their clubs is the other. FC Barcelona continue to have the privilege of being an attractive club to the elite players of Europe, but they remain just as frustrating to the clubs of those players.

As per German journalist Tobi Altschaffl, Bayern Munich continue to remain determined that German midfielder Joshua Kimmich is not for sale. “Not even for €100 million”.

Recent reports over the last two days suggested that the 28-year-old defensive midfielder is looking for a change of scenery, especially given the current ongoing problems at Bayern Munich in regard to their management and recent abrupt managerial changes that are infiltrating their way into the dressing room and creating a dysfunctional environment.

Joshua Kimmich continues to remain one of Europe’s top players in his specialty positions, and one that FC Barcelona will remain certain to keep an eye on. The player’s personal desire to leave remains, but it is convincing Bayern Munich that is the seemingly bigger obstacle.

In a parallel situation last summer, the German club was also unwilling to let Robert Lewandowski leave for FC Barcelona, but courtesy of the player speaking of his desire to leave publicly multiple times as well as a stubborn Barcelona who wanted him, the club ended up letting him leave for a fee of €45 million + €5 million in variables reportedly.

Should the Catalans manage to convince Bayern Munich, who continue to be against any sort of transfer for their midfielder, the addition of Joshua Kimmich could prove to be instrumental.

The sporting and economic reasonings within the club coincide in agreement over the potential arrival of the German, as the qualities and abilities he brings to the team may just evolve this Barcelona team to new heights.
