As the summer transfer window approaches its initiation, FC Barcelona, like other major clubs, are the subject of constant market activity speculation. This speculation involves both outside players that the club may be interested in, as well as the club’s own players who can depart in the summer window.
Recently, there have been news of the Catalan club being interested in Bayern Munich ace, Joshua Kimmich. The German star is well established in the Bayern midfield, and while the German club will do its all to prevent such a move, recent reports suggested that the player’s entourage is well interested in a move.
Now, the latest reports by Gerard Romero suggest that Bayern Munich themselves are interested in a Barcelona player. The player in question is Alejandro Balde, who has had an explosive season this year with the club, in which he won La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup.
While the veracity of this report is yet to be determined, such a move does not seem completely away from reality. One factor that can encourage the Bavarian club in their pursuit of Balde is the fact that the 19-year-old La Masia graduate is yet to put pen to paper on his renewal agreement.
As things hold, his contract runs only till 2024. However, it was recently reported that the Catalan club has a verbal agreement with the player regarding a renewal that will keep him with the Blaugranes till 2027, and only the formal signature and its registration with La Liga is remaining.
Thus, the upcoming summer transfer window is surely going to be an interesting one. With FC Barcelona needing a number of reinforcements in the squad, and a number of players to be sold, the club can reappear in the next season with significantly changed faces in its team.
