After having been uncertain about what moves FC Barcelona will make in the upcoming winter transfer window, recent news indicates that the club has now decided on their course of action and will be able to successfully incorporate their priority player in January.
The ACL tear suffered by Gavi, which will keep him out of action for the rest of the season, is going to be utilized by the Catalan club to undertake other business in January.
The club is planning to register Vitor Roque, who was already signed during the summer transfer window, in the place of Gavi, and thus provide Xavi’s attack with a highly needed reinforcement.
As already reported here, the Brazilian has already recovered from the injury he suffered in September, and can return to the pitch this weekend when Athletico Paranaense face Vasco de Gama in the Brazilian Serie A.
The forward has been training with the group and with the ball for the entirety of the last week, and once he returns to action, he will have three games to play with his current club.
After playing these three games, the youngster can bid farewell to his teammates by 2nd December, according to a timeline formed by Mundo Deportivo. His time with Paranaense will end on December 6th, after which Roque will take some days off for vacation.
Then, he will travel to Barcelona, meet his new teammates, meet the coaches, and get acquainted with the club and its facilities, where he will be remaining and training till June 2031 according to his contract with the Blaugranes.
The youngster’s Christmas celebrations will also take place in Barcelona, where he will also be joined by his family.
However, it is expected that the youngster’s entire focus during this period of celebrations will be on his debut as a Barcelona player, which he can make in the first game of the upcoming year, against Las Palmas.
Roque will then be ready for the Spanish Supercup, beginning on 10th January, for which he will travel with the team to Saudi Arabia.
