A lot of issues regarding FC Barcelona this season stem from the various uncertainties at the club. La Blaugrana, now also unsure about various continuities, continue to suppress their issues. Come the summer, however, and Barcelona will have to face all of their prolonged issues.

An immediate problem that Barça do have to tend to right now, however, seems to be the one concerning their head coach. Many individuals at the top of the Barcelona hierarchy, as per various reports, are not exactly on the same page as head coach Xavi Hernandez at the moment.

In fact, the same reports suggest that the Barcelona coach could be relieved of his duties in the summer after this season comes to a close. However, the main issue with that would be finding a solid option to replace the coach right now.

Fortunately for FC Barcelona, a new pathway may have opened up just for that possibility. According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Brighton head coach Roberto de Zerbi is set to part ways with the club at the end of this season and he will be looking for a new chapter moving forward.

Whatever that chapter ends up being remains a mystery for now, but it is simultaneously also true that the Italian coach has been heavily linked to Barcelona in the past. Due to his style of play and his technical prowess, Barça believe he has that special something that makes excellent coaches.

However, and this is strictly hypothetical, Barcelona could end up acquiring De Zerbi’s services for a season until they can find other candidates that are more qualified or perhaps even retain the Italian coach in case he ends up performing well with the team.

Ultimately, this is all still just speculation, and nothing is confirmed. For now, Xavi Hernandez has already communicated that Barcelona retain their trust in him and it seems that the current coach could just end up retaining his job and position come the beginning of the 2024/2025 season as well.
