FC Barcelona have a long road ahead of them if they want to return to the top of the echelons of European football. The Blaugranes are kept away from that goal mainly due to an irregular team full of holes. However, Barcelona want to fill those holes with the right profiles over the course of the summer transfer window.

Yet, it is much easier said than done to do so. For their pivot role, in particular, there is a lot of debate and too little certainty. Barcelona need a specialist to cover that crucial position for them, but they simultaneously have to worry about their vulnerable financial position.

However, with there being a lot of questions over how much Barcelona may be willing to spend, there are still options that are economical in the market. Simultaneously, there are also options that could become grand summer signings due to the price tags involved.

As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, here are ten pivots Barcelona continue to study as possible summer arrivals.

Dion Lopy (aged 22):

Currently a player for Almeria, the 22-year-old midfielder is possibly the option with the smallest price tag. Despite having a contract until 2029 with the La Liga side, he has a market value of just €8 million.

Wilfred Ndidi (aged 27):

A player for Championship side Leicester City, Wilfred Ndidi is a solid player with a proven career. His current market value is estimated to be around €18 million and his contract expires at the end of this season.

Raphael Onyedika (aged 22)

A player for Club Brugge, he has a contract in place until 2027 but his market value is estimated to be around only €8 million.

Aleix Garcia (aged 26):

The ideal candidate for Barcelona, Aleix Garcia is already a proven name within La Liga. Captain of Girona and a crucial piece of their puzzle, the Spaniard is contracted to the Catalan side until 2026 or possibly for another additional year. While his market value is around €20 million, he has a release clause between €10-15 million.

Ederson (aged 24)

Contracted to Atalanta until 2026, the 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder has a market value of €27 million.

Youssouf Fofana (aged 25)

A player for French side Monaco, he has a contract in place until 2025 and a market value of around €28 million.

Amadou Onana (aged 22)

A player who Deco seems to like a lot, the Senegalese-born midfielder currently plays for Everton. While his market value is estimated to be around €60 million, Barcelona could be willing to offer up to €40 million for him.

Joshua Kimmich (aged 29):

A globally-renowned superstar and a proven player at Bayern Munich, Joshua Kimmich would undoubtedly be a star signing. Still valued at around €75 million, he is far away from the low-cost options Barcelona may want to look at. His current contract with the Bavarian giants expires in 2025.

Martin Zubimendi (aged 25):

Once the ideal signing of Xavi Hernandez, Barcelona ultimately could not bring him in then. However, from a technical point of view, he fits Barcelona like a glove. Valued at €50 million, he has an active release clause in his Real Sociedad contract worth €60 million as per speculation.

Bruno Guimaraes (aged 26):

Valued at €85 million, it is estimated that Barcelona would have to go beyond the €100 million mark for his possible signing. The Brazilian is an established player with Newcastle United, but seems far too expensive with his current price tag for Barcelona.
