Match Preview:

It is no secret that FC Barcelona head into every game having the expectation to emerge as victors. This clash against CA Osasuna will be no different as La Blaugrana and Xavi Hernandez will look to emerge victorious against Jagoba Arrasate’s Osasuna side in what is expected to be a tough match for both sides.

Thus far, FC Barcelona have managed 2 wins and a draw from their opening three games in La Liga this season, accumulating 7 points from a possible 9. The latest wins against Cadiz and Villarreal were both integral to ensuring Barca remain in the running as title contenders thus far.

The Catalan giants currently sit at 4th position on the La Liga table, tied on points with both Atletico Madrid and Girona who sit on 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Real Madrid have managed to leap in front with 4 wins out of 4 games, and Barca will thus be hoping to get back within catching distance by overcoming Osasuna.

On the other hand, CA Osasuna currently sit on 9th place with 3 games played. They managed 2 wins and a loss against Athletic Bilbao which currently has them sitting in 9th with 6 points to their name, just one behind Barcelona.

Expected to showcase their usual defensive rigidity against Barcelona, the Catalan giants would do well to be at their very best in terms of both chance creation as well as finishing them off by being clinical in front of goal.

The positive for FC Barcelona is that both new Portuguese signings, Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix, are in the squad to face off against Osasuna and it would not be a surprise to see one of them or possibly even both in the starting lineup to kick off the game.

Previously injured and unregistered signing Inigo Martinez has also now received the medical green light and is also registered by FC Barcelona, making him eligible to play and thus being included in the squad as well.
