There are constant news and updates coming about the possible successor of Xavi Hernandez on the FC Barcelona bench. As things stand, Barcelona are considering several high-profile names for this role, but none of them has yet been finalized and there is a lot of uncertainty about this matter.

In recent days, one of the names that has been strongly linked with the Catalan club is that of Thomas Tuchel, the current Bayern Munich head coach. The German is facing a lot of tension in his current club, and is not sure whether he will remain at the Munich club for the next season.

In such a situation, he realizes that there is another top-level position available in the market for the next season, i.e., that of the Barcelona head coach.

He also knows that Laporta is an admirer of the German style of coaching, and had already wanted to get him to replace Ronald Koeman in 2021 when he was close to winning the Champions League with Chelsea.

As a result, Mundo Deportivo reports that the German’s entourage has already offered him to Barcelona, and is confident that Tuchel will have a high chance of getting this position because of his triumphant Champions League campaign with Chelsea.

However, it is also clear that Tuchel is currently not going through the best period of his career, and his reputation can be damaged if he is unable to make Bayern win the Bundesliga for the 12th time in a row, especially with the investment that the Bavarians made in Harry Kane.

Tuchel was linked with Barcelona as soon as Xavi announced his departure, but Bayern were quick to rule out such a possibility. However, it is clear that Tuchel is making moves to ensure he does not remain out of top-level football for long even if his Bayern stint is unsuccessful.
