Owing to their precarious financial situation, FC Barcelona have to be at their pragmatic best to continue strengthening their team by getting the desired targets from the transfer market.

In the last few years, the Catalans have been able to get some of the most notable players in Europe, including the likes of İlkay Gündoğan, João Cancelo, João Felix, Robert Lewandowski, etc. despite their financial problems.

One factor that allowed them to do so was the good relationship of the Barcelona hierarchy with some of the top agents in European football.

For instance, Jorge Mendes, who is one of the biggest agents in the world of football, has a very close relationship with Joan Laporta and was key in the arrival of João Cancelo and João Felix, the departure on loan of Ansu Fati, and also represents players like Lamine Yamal, Alejandro Balde, and Aitana Bonmati.

Similarly, Pini Zahavi is another agent in Laporta’s close circle, and he has big names like Robert Lewandowski and Hansi Flick in his clientele.

Now, according to SPORT, another agent, Darren Dein, has now joined Laporta’s close circle, even though his representation agency does not have as many eye-catching clients as those of the two previously mentioned. He was one of the intermediaries as Barcelona and Nike negotiated for a new deal recently.

The most notable talent in his clientele is Xavi Simmons, who can still be of interest to Barcelona in the future after the Blaugranes had tried to get him on loan last summer. Xavi Simmons had developed at La Masia for 9 years before leaving the club because of the Catalans’ unwillingness to meet his economic demands.

He joined Paris Saint Germain after leaving Barcelona, and after a loan at PSV, is now on another loan at the Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig. There is no doubt about his quality, and the relationship between Dein and Laporta can ensure his arrival at the Catalan club in the future.
