Evolution must remain constant in football, and Barcelona believe it to be vital too. The Catalan giants hope to make some progress in the summer transfer market as a consequence of that. However, things will not be too easy for Barcelona considering their economic restraints.

Yet, the team from Catalonia aspires to still improve their depth and add quality to the team. Taking into account their financial problems, however, Barcelona have become aware of their limits and how they can redirect their efforts towards affordable targets that bring in quality.

One position where La Blaugrana wish to reinforce the team is in the frontline. Wishing for more unbalancing figures to be present in the team, Barcelona have identified a potential target who offers just that. According to Toni Juanmarti of SPORT, Barça are now taking a serious glance at Mason Greenwood.

Still under contract at English club Manchester United, Greenwood is currently on loan at Getafe. Under the tutelage of Jose Bordalas, the Englishman has seemingly grown quite a lot within Spanish football.

At the age of 22, he has already played 26 games for Getafe this season and has accumulated more than 2000 minutes. He has eight goals and five assists to his name as well in those appearances.

Coupled with his vicious striking, eye for goal, and ability to create unbalancing situations for opponents, he is seen as a lethal player.

However, there are other massive concerns with Greenwood as well. There is the existent history of his past issues involving harassment charges and allegations, which have already created a blockade to a potential return to Manchester United.

Similarly, many fans of Barcelona have also voiced their opinion about these issues and why they wish for Barça to steer clear of the English forward.

As for his contractual situation, he is legally obligated to the Red Devils until 2025. With a year left on his contract, the cost of the operation should not really be astronomical. Moreover, SPORT stated that Barcelona could look to possibly include starlets from the subsidiary or youth team to make it even cheaper to accomplish.
