The arrival of Vitor Roque to FC Barcelona in the January window is looking more certain every day. The news emerging from the club at least shows that the Catalans are fully committed to incorporating the Brazilian into Xavi’s squad in January.
Vitor Roque has fully recovered from his injury and is making his last appearances in Brazil with Athletico Paranaense, before completing his move to Barcelona. The Catalans have fully planned his incorporation in January, and now more details about his arrival have been provided by Mundo Deportivo.
The Spanish journal reveals that the player will be under Xavi’s orders on 28th December, and that is also the date when he will meet his new teammates. This is the date when the team will return to training after their Christmas break, but there would not be too much time to rest after the start of the new year as Barcelona have a match scheduled against Las Palmas on 4th January.
Thus, Roque will spend his Christmas in Brazil and then land in Barcelona on 27th December. Previously, there were reports that the player was planning to travel to Barcelona on 6th December, after playing his last game for Athletico Paranaense, but one Spanish regulation has made the Catalan club change this plan.
As soon as Roque joins Barcelona, he will have to be registered as an employee of the club with Social Security, and from this point, the amortization of his signing will begin, and this will impact the club’s financial fair play.
As the club currently does not have enough space for his incorporation, his arrival date has been set after Christmas.
There are no possible sales in January in sight for Barcelona, and the Catalans also have not yet received the payment from Libero Football Group, that they were expecting to receive to be able to sign Roque.
For now, Barcelona can use Gavi’s injury to incorporate Roque, but they will have to generate more space in FFP in the summer to continue having both of these two players.
