FC Barcelona emerged as dominant victors over Jorge Bordalas’s Getafe at the Montjuic Stadium. With a scoreline of 4-0, Xavi’s side played the visiting team out of the park. Thanks to this victory, Barcelona will continue to walk on with a lot more confidence.

The goals from Raphinha, Joao Felix, Frenkie De Jong, and Fermin Lopez all helped Barcelona secure this victory. However, a lot of the credit for this win goes to players beyond just those involved in the goals directly.

Here is how the Barcelona players fared against Getafe.

Player Ratings:

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen: 6.5

The Barcelona captain had to make a fair share of saves, but none of them felt threatening. A solid outing for the German international and one that he will be happy to finish with a clean sheet.

Joao Cancelo: 6.0

His ever-flowing silky style of football continues to flourish on the flank. However, unlike his usual brilliant performances, Joao Cancelo seemed a lot more restricted and contained in a game where he could have done so much more.

Ronald Araujo: 7.0

Once again, as is typical of him, Ronald Araujo had another outing worthy of a captain. Constantly putting a stop to Getafe’s advances, even his composure and ball-playing were rather commendable in a clash where it definitely needed to be.

Pau Cubarsi: 7.5

Despite his tender age, Pau Cubarsi continues to show the maturity of a veteran footballer. His passes are lightning-fast but almost always on target and quite precisely so. Moreover, despite his age, he continues to compete physically with every striker that comes near him.

Jules Kounde: 8.0

The Frenchman was once again sublime while playing as a right-back for Barcelona. His first-time passes were accurate and quite lethal in opening up Getafe on several occasions, and his pinpoint long pass to Raphinha was the one that kickstarted the goal-scoring spree for Barcelona.

Andreas Christensen: 8.0

A much more composed performance from the Dane as the pivot, Andreas Christensen seemed much more in control. Dominant in the air and solid whenever he had possession, this was one of his better performances while playing as a defensive midfielder for Barcelona. His assist for Joao Felix’s second goal, moreover, was absolutely sublime.

Frenkie De Jong: 8.5

In terms of control and circulation of the ball, Frenkie De Jong was unstoppable. The Dutchman knew exactly when to attract attention and when to dispatch the ball, and this kept Getafe on their toes at all times. He also ended up scoring the third goal of the game.

Ilkay Gundogan: 7.0

Constantly creating chances for his teammates, Ilkay Gundogan was once again a creative hub for his team. His progression with the ball ensured that Getafe remained cautious, and he consequently opened up a lot of space for his teammates.

Joao Felix: 7.5

The Portuguese forward finally made his way back into the starting eleven. However, it was again only through glimpses that his talent was seen at its best possible potential. He did end up scoring a crucial second goal for Barcelona.

Robert Lewandowski: 7.0

Despite not being involved in any goal contribution directly, Robert Lewandowski had a decent outing. His runs were good, he was physically a threat at all times, and he managed to score a great goal that was ultimately ruled off for offside.

Raphinha: 8.0

The Brazilian winger had a rather confusing game to judge. On one hand, he opened the scoring for Barcelona with a clever run that he repeated several times during the game. On other occasions, he messed up some of the best offensive chances that Barça conjured up. However, he did assist De Jong rather cleverly for the third goal.

Substitutes:

Fermin Lopez: 7.5

A dynamic entry into the match, Fermin Lopez injected a lot of energy into the game. However, it was not only energy he injected, as he ended up scoring a fourth goal for Barcelona as well following a rebound.

Oriol Romeu: 6.0

Arriving in place of Andreas Christensen, Oriol Romeu did a decent job in circulating the ball with precision and pace.

Vitor Roque: N/A

Not enough time or influence in the match to warrant a rating.

Pedri: N/A

Not enough time or influence in the match to warrant a rating.

Hector Fort: N/A
