FC Barcelona just have a few days left before the summer transfer window concludes for this season. Thus far, the arrivals and departures that have been managed have been far from ideal. Moreover, it seems that Barcelona continue to struggle in the market due to their financial limitations.
Yet, to overcome those limitations, Barça are hoping to offload some players under conditions that benefit them in one way or another. The departure of Ilkay Gundogan is already quite advanced it seems, and the exit of Vitor Roque to either Sporting CP or Real Betis could happen soon as well.
However, when it comes to arrivals, that is where Barcelona are yet to make a big move. Fans of the club want to see La Blaugrana sign more players, but things are much easier said than done. Yet, when it comes to things being said in regards to transfers, it would appear that a massive update has come up.
According to journalist Victor Navarro, Barcelona sporting director Deco was recently approached on the street by a fan of the club who was quite curious about happenings within the entity and he even managed to get the director to speak out a few words.
His first question, rather unsurprisingly, was about Nico Williams and if he would come, to which Deco replied:
“I want him to come, but he doesn’t want to.”
Yet, the fan did not stop there. He managed to get a second question out asking if any other player would be joining Barcelona this summer, and Deco gave a positive reply:
“Yes.”
While this update does not guarantee or specify which player could end up joining the club, it does raise some eyebrows. Barcelona are rumored to be interested in several players, and there have been recent reports suggesting that the club want to make signings in at least two positions.
One of their major targets could be Rafael Leao, who is another elite left-winger that Barcelona could look to bring in but his cost could prove to be problematic. That is why alternatives are also lined up, such as the likes of Federico Chiesa or potentially even Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman.
