For the last few years, FC Barcelona have been unable to make most of their desired moves in the market because of their precarious economic conditions. Still, the Catalan club remains one of the best in European football and is always a contender for the top trophies in Europe and Spain.
Furthermore, the Blaugranes have also been able to bring in some top players to their squad despite these economic problems in the last few years. Some of the biggest names in the game, like Robert Lewandowski and Ilkay Gundogan, joined the club despite its weak financial conditions.
For the future, the Catalans are once again looking to assemble a highly competitive team, once they get over their financial problems. This was clear from some of the comments made by Deco as he participated in the ‘Thinking Football’ conference in Portugal.
Speaking about one of the most promising talents in the current Barcelona team, as highlighted by Fabrizio Romano, the Barcelona Sporting Director showed his intent to surround him with some of the best players and assemble one of best of the best squads in Barcelona history: “Lamine Yamal will play for the best Barcelona team in history”.
The Portuguese official went on to praise the youngster for two aspects in particular: “He has been special since he was young, his technical abilities and his mentality are completely different”.
Yamal is already surrounded by some very good players at Barcelona. In the attack, he is usually joined by the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, while Dani Olmo will also frequently play together with him this season.
But from Deco’s comments, it looks like Barcelona are still not satisfied and will be looking to make even more quality additions to their squad in the coming years, and hopefully, Deco will live up to his words to provide Barcelona fans with another truly unforgettable team.
