Pablo Torre is one of the most exciting players loaned out by FC Barcelona for this season. The youngster is playing for the high-flying Girona, and after having not gotten much time on the pitch earlier, is becoming a more important player for Michel recently.

As SPORT has noted, the year 2023 has been one of constant learning and growth for Torre. The player dreamt of succeeding with Barcelona, but this was almost impossible because of the presence of much more established players.

As a result, he decided to continue with his growth and development at another club where the competition was not that high.

The player chose Girona as this destination and joined the Catalan club on a year-long loan. This choice has now proven to be a correct one, as Girona is playing brilliantly, and is the joint La Liga leader with Real Madrid.

Torre has ended the year in good form, but his time at Girona was not always easy. He impressed in the team’s preseason tour, but a knee injury took him out of the squad.

Meanwhile, Michel’s team performed so well in the ensuing months that it was difficult for the coach to get Torre back into the starting eleven even after his recovery.

As fate would have it, it was another injury that paved the way for Torre to get more minutes on the pitch. Yangel Herrera’s injury removed an important midfielder from Michel’s plans, and allowed the Barcelona loanee to get significant time on the pitch.

He started the match against Valencia, which Girona won 2-1, and also impressed in the match against Real Betis.

In 2023, the youngster made a total of 30 official appearances, nine with Barcelona, two with Barca Atletic, thirteen with Girona, and another six with the Spain U-21 team. In total, he played 1010 official minutes in 2023.

Now, in 2024, his first goal would be to retain his place in Michel’s starting eleven. With the Spain U-21 team, he will be looking to help his team qualify for the European Under-21 Championship 2025.

But in the long term, his most difficult but important goal would be to become an important player at Barcelona.
