After having won their first three matches of the season with the barest of margins, FC Barcelona opened the floodgates against Real Valladolid in their last league match as they absolutely battered them to come out 7-0 winners.
Raphinha scored a hat-trick in that match, while Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, Dani Olmo, and Ferran Torres also got a goal apiece.
Like Raphinha and Kounde, it was the first goal of the season for Ferran Torres, who will be leaving the Barcelona camp after this match to join the Spanish national team for its matches against Serbia and Switzerland in the UEFA Nations League.
But it was his actions after the match against Real Valladolid that would have pleased the physical trainers and coaching staff of both Barcelona and the Spanish national team. The Spaniard got on the pitch for only 20 minutes in that match, and as SPORT has reported, he went straight to the gym after the game to exert more load on his body before going to take a shower.
The former Manchester City forward also shared an image of him working on a treadmill on his social media, along with a message that went: “Victory, a goal, and back home to finish the job in good company.”
It is also not the first time that Torres has done so, and Jules Kounde has also frequently gone straight to the gym after some games to maintain his best physical levels.
But from Monday, the €30m-rated Spaniard will start focusing on his preparations with the Spanish national team, and will be looking to play an important role in the matches against Serbia and Switzerland on September 5th and 9th respectively.
After these matches, he will return to Barcelona with an eye on getting more goals to surpass the 11 goals that he had scored in the last season.
