Joao Felix generated a lot of excitement among Barcelona fans as he joined the Catalan side on loan from Atletico Madrid in the last summer transfer window. The Portuguese international made a good start to his Barcelona stint but left a lot to be desired over the course of the season with his inconsistent performances.

He returned to Atletico Madrid after his loan ended, but it is very unlikely that he will stay with the Mattress Makers during this summer transfer window. His relationship with the coach Diego Simeone is completely broken, while the Atletico fans are also not too keen to see Felix in their colors again.

Barcelona themselves are pursuing other targets like Nico Williams and Dani Olmo to strengthen their attack, which makes it unlikely for them to make another move for Felix.

However, SPORT reports that such a move is still not completely ruled out at the Catalan club, but the Blaugranes will work on it only if their more preferred operations fall through. Meanwhile, Felix has also decided to wait for Barcelona, and will not agree to a move to Aston Villa that Atletico Madrid prefers.

At the end of his last loan with Barcelona, the Catalans had promised him that they will do everything to get him back for the next season. However, their interest in the player cooled down in the ensuing days, but contact never completely died down.

Deco and Flick both believe that Felix can be an important player for them once again, and that getting him from Atletico Madrid can be a market opportunity. Barcelona understand that they can get him on another loan, and Atletico would like another player to join them in exchange, with Inigo Martinez, Ferran Torres, and Vitor Roque all generating interest.

However, the Mattress Makers will have to convince one of these players to join them, while also hoping that Barcelona reignite their interest in Felix. The Catalans are planning to wait till the end of the summer transfer window before making a decision in this regard.
