Even as Barcelona manage to do things right, it seems that not everyone is always happy. Despite their crucial recent victory over Atletico Madrid, reports and news clouding the future of a certain player seem to be coming in. For Barcelona, this constant wave of uncertainty often becomes a significant hindrance.
This time around, the main target of such news is Spanish forward Ferran Torres. As per the reports, it is believed that the Spaniard is not satisfied with his current role under Xavi Hernandez at Barcelona. However, the latest update provided paints a rather different picture.
As per Mundo Deportivo, a recent interaction took place between Torres and Xavi in regards to his future. While nothing is guaranteed for the future, the report claims that the forward at least committed himself to Xavi’s Barcelona for this entire season.
Hence, speculation suggesting that he could leave in January is brushed aside by the player. In fact, he remains committed to finding his best self for Barcelona this season and in a way has already managed to come a long way since his rather slow start to life in Barça.
Regardless of the expected arrival of Vitor Roque, it seems that Ferran Torres remains fully committed. Willing to fight for his spot in the team, the 23-year-old still continues to believe in his abilities.
In fact, the forward has appeared in every single Barcelona game this season except for the opening bout against Getafe. Moreover, he has started in more than half the games he has participated in. With 10 starts in 19 appearances, the Spaniard has also contributed 5 goals and 2 assists.
Given the poor form of Robert Lewandowski in recent games, Torres could begin to feature more. However, only time will tell how prominent his contributions can get.
