While FC Barcelona continue to maintain focus on ensuring that their priority transfer targets are kept well within their reach in terms of being accessible, there are other movements taking place within the market as well.
In recent months, the particular influx of European stars being taken away to the clutches of the Middle Eastern clubs, primarily within Saudi Arabia, has risen to a staggering amount.
From a European perspective, even clubs like Barcelona and others of an elite standing are unable to compete with the financial muscle of the Saudi Arabian clubs as they continue their own quest of bringing top-level European players over to their own league.
As such, Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal has recently made their advances on a player that has been linked to Barcelona this very summer, according to trusted Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
According to the journalist, Al-Hilal manager Jorge Jesus has already directly called for the arrival of 23-year-old Joao Felix to the Saudi Arabian club as the Middle Eastern side remains heavily interested in ensuring the Portuguese youngster becomes part of their project.
However, Romano further confirms that while the 23-year-old has already decided to part ways with current Spanish club Atletico Madrid this summer, his options lie beyond just the Middle Eastern calling.
According to the journalist, the player remains fixated on European football as well and in particular continues to wait for FC Barcelona to make a move.
It will be interesting to see how his situation develops but reports in recent weeks have suggested that those involved within the sporting realm of FC Barcelona do not consider him a priority target despite his public statements related to wanting to join the Catalan outfit.
