FC Barcelona are looking to finalize their recruitments for the summer transfer window of 2023 in order to capitalize on the opportunities at their disposal and create a squad under Xavi Hernandez that is well-versed in terms of both quality and depth.

However, beyond just the efficiency of a team, Barcelona president Joan Laporta realizes the need of star power to attract eyes and numbers. Subsequently, the Catalan giants pursued the likes of Neymar Jr and Bernardo Silva in their bid to bring them over to Spain.

Yet, neither operation ended up being a success as the Portuguese midfielder is likely to now renew with Manchester City, and the Brazilian star is set to leave for Saudi Arabia despite numerous reports linking him to Barcelona.

One name that still remains on the table is that of Portuguese star Joao Felix, whose relationship with Atletico Madrid and coach Diego Simeone remains unfavorable and the player consequently wishes to leave.

As per Spanish outlet SPORT, Joao Felix continues to block other offers despite being on the Atletico Madrid transfer list as he only wishes to sign for Barcelona and is even willing to take the risk of having to wait till the final day.

With the relationship with his current club completely shattered and his desire to play for Barcelona as strong as ever, the 23-year-old has communicated to Barcelona through his agent Jorge Mendes that he is willing to wait for Barcelona until the very end.

However, Barcelona remain absolute in their priorities and those remain first and foremost the arrival of a right-back. Afterwards, the Catalan giants wish to incorporate an offensive midfielder to add more creativity within the attacking realms of the team.

Then, and only then, would they be willing to go in for Joao Felix provided that it is an operation within their financial ability and sporting feasibility. Barcelona have also been clear that a possible operation for Felix may only be achievable if a significant departure takes place, namely that of either Ferran Torres or Ansu Fati.
