It is clear as day that FC Barcelona have no intention of sitting back quietly during this summer. The Catalan giants have arrived into the transfer market with clear aspirations and they hope to live by them. However, things are always easier said than done whenever Barcelona seems to be involved.

Beyond just highlighting and finalizing their summer targets, Barça have now taken great steps in various attempts to secure their arrivals. Two of Spain’s finest attacking players, Nico Williams and Dani Olmo, are reportedly on Barça’s agenda as a pair of signings this summer.

However, while the Athletic Club winger’s case is going by rather smoothly, despite the rather frustrating interest from PSG, the operation concerning Dani Olmo now receives an untimely and unwanted update. Just as Barcelona were hoping to wrap up the arrival of Nico Williams and focus on Olmo, a new suitor enters the picture.

As highlighted by Santi Aouna, Premier League champions Manchester City have made an offer to secure the services of the €60 million-rated RB Leipzig star. This will definitely be a major blow to Barcelona, given the fact that the Citizens are a very formidable side to compete against.

That is because they possess not just the financial means to rival almost anyone in the world of football, but also have the sporting quality to claim themselves as arguably the best team in the world at the moment. However, one thing continues to work in Barça’s favor even now, and that is Olmo’s preference.

As per the same report, despite the interest from Manchester City, Olmo remains interested in joining La Blaugrana. In fact, his agent has a meeting scheduled with the club this week as per Aouna, and Barcelona themselves are pushing to sign him as well.

For now, however, the focus within the Barcelona camp remains on Nico Williams. From paying his release clause to ensuring personal guarantees to his entourage, the Catalan club is doing whatever they can to make sure that he ends up wearing the Barça colors next season.
