There are very few names left in FC Barcelona who can truly be deemed as being untouchable. The Blaugranes are not going through their best moment collectively, and it is showing in their results. However, with their financial vulnerability also in mind, Barcelona keep themselves open to possibilities.

Taking advantage of this fact, other European giants have decided to launch their own attempts to lure certain stars away from FC Barcelona. One such star is Ronald Araujo, who reportedly has Bayern Munich heavily interested in him.

Moreover, it seems the Bavarian giants are no longer alone in their pursuit of the Uruguayan defender. According to SPORT, more reports from Germany are now pointing towards a new suitor. Hailing from the English Premier League, Manchester United have now also joined the race for the Barcelona captain.

In fact, United reportedly inquired about the possibility of Araujo leaving in the ongoing winter window. However, just as Barcelona are speculated to have told Bayern, their response remains clear. The Catalan giants are not willing to part ways with the defender for less than €80 million.

However, their reluctance to part ways with the Uruguayan goes beyond just the financial side of things. While the player himself currently remains focused on Barça and has even publicly admitted that he remains committed to the club despite the rumors, even the club has its reasons.

As was previously highlighted, Barcelona consider Araujo to be untouchable. For them, he is a structural player, alongside Pedri and Gavi, around whom the team can be built in the years to come. As a result, at least for right now, the interest from other European giants is fruitless.

However, similar to Bayern Munich, it seems that Manchester United will not forget about the Barça star. In fact, they could return alongside the Bavarian giants in the summer of 2024 to try their luck again.
