It would seem that FC Barcelona are going to be dealing with a lot more problems moving forward. The reality of the Catalan club, at least for the moment, is that they have an extremely depleted squad. Due to various injuries, both old and recent, Barcelona continue to limp onwards without too much depth.

The loss to Osasuna served as a great reminder as to why depth is crucial in a long season of football. For Hansi Flick and Barcelona, however, it seems that there was simply no other option than to rest some key players and allow several youngsters to take over.

Fortunately for Barcelona, however, it would seem that they are going to be recovering a key player very soon. This particular player would not just be returning as one of the most fundamental pieces that Hansi Flick could possibly hope to count on, but also as a team captain.

The player in question is none other than Frenkie de Jong, the 27-year-old Barcelona captain who has been out injured since April of this year. Now, however, as per the latest information provided by Adria Albets, it is expected that he will receive the medical green light soon and should be able to return against Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League.

His return should be a massive boost for Hansi Flick and it is now expected that the Dutch midfielder will be in the squad list for the upcoming game. However, there are a lot of concerns regarding De Jong beyond just the issue of his injury.

As revealed by the player in a recent interview to Barca One, he has stated that the rumors about his salary and his injury are all false. Instead, the Dutchman claims that both his salary and the situation of his surgery are very different from the way that the media has tried to portray them.
