In what has been a chaotic transfer window for Barcelona thus far already in the summer of 2023, the Catalan giants continue to scout the market to find the best possible players to recruit to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
Chief among the targeted players for the summer is Manchester City midfielder and Portugal National team star Bernardo Silva, who has come to be reported as the primary target for Barcelona this summer.
The 28-year-old midfielder’s future remains up in the air as he remains attracted by the prospect of joining Barcelona and the Catalan club is speculated to already be formulating a proposal to send in to Manchester City.
In a recent development on social media, Bernardo Silva’s spouse has taken to Instagram to post a picture with the wives of Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan at a farewell for the others as both the players are now set to settle in Saudi Arabia and Barcelona respectively. Her caption for the image read:
“Goodbyes are never easy. I’ll miss them so much. I’ll see you soon”
Contrary to the report done by Mundo Deportivo on the same story, however, this does not seem to be an indication by Silva’s wife that the door to Barcelona has been completely closed.
The report by MD failed to acknowledge the words of the caption beyond the first two sentences and missed out on the part stating “I’ll see you soon” which could very well indicate the possibility of being reunited with her friend ( Ilkay Gundogan’s wife ) in Barcelona itself if Silva’s transfer ends up taking place.
For now, Barcelona remain keen on acknowledging and realizing the best possible economic approach to take in order to convince Manchester City of letting go of their 28-year-old star while simultaneously remaining a feasible package from the perspective of Barcelona.
