English Referee is set to officiate Fc Barcelona’s clash against Bayern

Fc Barcelona will host Bayern Munich at Spotify Camp Nou on Wednesday night knowing the fact that their fate is not in their own hands courtesy of their abysmal performances and poor refereeing in the previous group stage games of the Uefa Champions League.

The Catalan giants are on the brink of elimination from the Champions League this season but a very slim margin of progressing further into the knockout stages still does exist. In order to qualify for the next round, Xavi’s team has to beat both Bayern and Viktoria Plzeň and hope for Inter Milan not to win any of their remaining two games against Bayern and Viktoria Plzeň.

La Blaugrana currently sit at the 3rd spot in the Group of Death courtesy of their poor performances, injuries of the key players, and subpar refereeing in the previous outings.

In the last three group-stage games of the Uefa Champions League, Fc Barcelona have faced a number of controversial decisions (two clear penalties denied, one crucial goal chalked off which many believed legal and a potential red card overlooked by VAR ) which not only affected the outcome of these games but also put them on the brink of elimination so the role of Referees has become more than crucial in this upcoming fixture.

As per recent reports, English Referee Anthony Taylor will officiate Fc Barcelona’s upcoming game against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night at Camp Nou and Stuart Atwell will be the head of the VAR operation room.

The English Referee Anthony Taylor has previously managed to officiate two games of the Spanish Giants and below is the outcome of those two games.

1. Olympiacos 0-0 Fc Barcelona (2017-18 Group Stage)

2. PSG 1-1 Fc Barcelona (2020-21 RO 16)

This game will be a tough game to officiate considering the previous controversial decisions and the importance of this game as all the eyes will be on the match officials and every decision will be scrutinized by the media and the fans around the globe.
