FC Barcelona loaned out several players during the course of the summer transfer window. The players were sent away from the Catalan club due to various reasons. Some were loaned out to get more minutes, while others were sent away due to financial reasons.
One of the major departures was that of 20-year-old Pablo Torre. A talented midfielder, he arrived in the summer of 2022 from Racing Santander. Expected to be a massive talent, he could not exactly get the chance to shine under Xavi Hernandez.
As a result, the player has been loaned out to Girona for the 2023/24 campaign. However, similar to his situation at Barça, he is struggling in terms of getting minutes. Girona are doing all too well this season, and while Torre has not been a significant part, another Barcelona loanee definitely has.
Eric Garcia is also on loan at Girona. The former Manchester City man was going to struggle this season at Barcelona in terms of chances. With Andreas Christensen, Jules Kounde, and Ronald Araujo having locked down the central defender role, Garcia had lost his place in the manager’s plans.
Now, while Garcia is soaring high at Girona, Torre continues to struggle. However, as brought forward by Jijantes FC (h/t Barca Times), the defender had positive signs to share about the progression of Torre at their current Catalan club:
“In training, he has made a massive change. The coach talks to him a lot and he will have his moment. I am convinced that he will end up playing.”
This comes as great news. Being a talented youngster, Pablo Torre definitely deserves the chance to show his worth. While at Barcelona it is not possible given the abundance of talent, it may be much more doable with Girona.
Girona next face Almeria at home in La Liga EA Sports. Pablo Torre may just end up getting his shot at participating. However, it will then be up to him to impress the coaches and fans once he gets his opportunity. Both Garcia and Torre are expected to return to FC Barcelona in the summer of 2024.
