Xavi Hernandez is now in his third season at FC Barcelona. Not everything has been perfect for him during this time, but one cannot deny that the current Barcelona head coach has done a good job despite coming at a very difficult time at the club.
The most notable highlights of his Barcelona career remain the La Liga triumph last season, and the winning of the Spanish Super Cup, also last season, after defeating Real Madrid in the final.
Fabregas praises Xavi
With these results, Xavi has been getting praise from various quarters. According to SPORT, the latest individual to compliment Xavi on his achievements at Barcelona is one of his former teammates, Cesc Fabregas.
Cesc Fabregas, who has embarked on a coaching career of his own and is currently heading the Italian Serie B side Como 1907, had some very high expectations from Xavi:
“I see Xavi at a high level, making Barcelona compete better in the Champions League and achieving better results in La Liga. Barcelona had lost consistency [but now] the level of play is much more reliable, with a much clearer idea.”
Villa impressed by Yamal
Another former teammate of Xavi at Barcelona, David Villa, was particularly impressed with the new star boy at Barcelona, Lamine Yamal, and highlighted how the 16-year-old is a special player:
“When a 16-year-old is able to play in La Liga, wearing the Barcelona shirt at this level, we are talking about someone with special talent. [Lamine] is not like any other player; he is special, as he has demonstrated at such a young age.”
Yamal has been playing at a very high level this season despite his age, and deserves all the praise that is coming his way. The youngster has already made several records with his goals and achievements this season, and with Xavi to guide him, Yamal seems set to have a great career in the coming years.
