Fati, Balde, Eric, Lewandowski back at Barcelona to start training

With the FIFA World Cup almost coming to an end and club football around the corner, some familiar faces were spotted in Barcelona’s Friday training session as Eric Garcia, Ansu Fati, Alejandro Balde, and Robert Lewandowski came back to training.

Eric, Ansu, and Balde were part of the Spanish National team that lost to Morocco on penalties in the World Cup quarter-finals and were expected to return on the 19th of December but they made an early return to the training dynamics on Friday under the guidance of first-team coach Xavi.

The three have their eyes set on being prepared for the first match after the World Cup break against Espanyol on the 31st of December and despite the World Cup fatigue, they resumed training before their scheduled time.

Lewandowski on the other hand was part of the Polish national team that lost to a strong France team and he returned to training on Friday to prepare for Barcelona’s remaining part of the season.

The Polish striker is on a three-match suspension after being sent off against Osasuna and would potentially miss out against Espanyol, Atletico Madrid, and Getafe leaving a huge blow to Xavi’s plans.

Many Barcelona stars are expected back in training and it’s only a matter of time before the full squad is available at Xavi’s disposal to prepare for the Espanyol clash.
